In Memory

Vicki Smith (Hastings)

Vicki Lynn Smith Hastings went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, August 27, 2021. She was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on June 21, 1960 to Jim and Elizabeth Smith and graduated from Rider High School in 1978. She married the love of her life, Joel Hastings, in 1985. They were a match made in Heaven. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Jeremiah Matthew Hastings and Amy Elizabeth Boyle. She left her job at the State Hospital of Texas to love and teach her children at home until they started school. Then she worked at TRC Recreation for 26 years. She loved to read, listen to music, was a fierce competitor at playing games and she enjoyed spending time with all her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful and loyal daughter, wife, mother, employee, friend, and most importantly, a child of God. She read through the Bible many times and loved to worship and fellowship at Evangel Church in Wichita Falls.

Vicki will be missed and remembered by her loving husband, Joel Hastings of Burkburnett; son and his wife, Jeremiah and Audrey Hastings of Cooper, Texas; daughter and her husband, Amy and Will Boyle of Rockford, Illinois; grandchildren, Iliana, Olivia, Jonah, and Smith; father, Jim Smith; and sister Leslie Williams; as well as other wonderful family members and lifelong friends. Vicki was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Smith; and her brother Dennis Smith.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Evangel Temple in Wichita Falls with Pastor Kile Bateman officiating.  Interment will follow at Archer City Cemetery.

She is now experiencing her favorite Bible verse Jude 1:24 “Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.” The family wants to thank everyone for their outpouring of love, prayers and support.
