Susan Renton

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Susan Lynn Renton, 54, in Fairfax, Virginia where she was taken home to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 23, 2015. Her life on this world was cut short by a brief and valiant battle against cancer. A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Floral Heights United Methodist Church of Wichita Falls, Texas with the pastor, David Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. No formal visitation is scheduled. Services are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. Susan was born November 10, 1960 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Wichita Falls and graduated from Rider High School. She was a member of the “Pride of the Raiders” marching band and was head majorette. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Southern Methodist University. She was a member of the SMU Mustang Band as a majorette. Susan graduated from Whittier Law School in California with a J. D. She earned a masters of law (LLM) degree from George Washington Law School specializing in domestic and international trade law. She was an active member of the Washington D.C. Bar and worked the past 8 years at Smith’s Group in Washington D.C. She traveled the globe assisting businesses with domestic and international trade law. She was a very active member of the City of Fairfax Republican Committee. Susan was preceded in death by her father, Paul N. Renton M.D. and her mother Ruth Johnson Renton. She leaves behind her daughter Samantha Renton and father Stuart Sacks of Fairfax, Virginia; her brother Paul N. Renton, Jr. M.D. and wife Debbie of Wichita Falls. Others are Caroline Groves and husband Justin of Wichita Falls, Sadie Ruth Groves of Wichita Falls, Robin and Robert Robbins of Wichita Falls, Paul Allen Renton of Plano, Texas and Martin and Faith Sacks of Dresher, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, Susan has asked that memorials be made to the Feline Foundation of Greater Washington D.C., 4121 Elizabeth Ln., Fairfax, VA 22032 or to a charity of choice.
