Susan Kay Batson, 59, passed away on February 22, 2019 in her home in Mobile, Alabama after a 2 year courageous battle with cancer. Ms. Batson was born on February 10, 1960 in Houston, Texas to Thomas Keith and Kay Fort Batson. Susan graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Communications and Marketing. She had a 20 year successful career as an Accountant Executive at Clarke American Checks. She has served as an independent insurance adjuster for the past 8 years. In her spare time, Susan enjoyed her dogs, Lu Lu and Leo, and going on cruises with her close family and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 25, 2019 at Springhill Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.with Memorial Services to follow at 2:00 p.m.. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at Valhalla Cemetery, 839 Wilkes Rd, Birmingham, AL. 35228.

She is survived by her mother, Kay Fort Batson; sister, Elizabeth Batson Cook (Tony); nephews, Anthony Cook and Brian Cook and Fiance' Shannon Moody. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Keith Batson, and her grandparents, John Willis Fort and Grace Willis Fort.
